Sorry it's been so long!

Kenna has been doing well. We just had another ear surgery and the tubes are doing well. She has had a busy summer, she went to FL with her dad and loved it. She just got back from Indy with me. So busy times:) We now sleep in our underwear it's official no more diapers.

I'm 3!

It's been a busy month. We have had very few accidents with potty training. She just turned 3 on the 17th of July and is excited about having 2 birthday parties:) She got to hang out with Ashlyn at her birthday party and then they went to St. Teresa's summer social which they both loved!!! Kenna is doing super. She weighs 32 pounds and is talking non-stop. She now wants a puppy dog. And her new love is Ice Age the movie:)

4th of July Weekend

Kenna has done well with potty-training. She had a busy weekend, playing with her new boyfriends Eli and Gavin. She loved the fireworks and looked so cute in her 4th of July dress and hairbow. She is very excited about her upcoming birthday.

We Did It

Well, it's officially Kenna is potty-trained. The last week of May, I took vacation and it was nothing but big girl underwear. It was a week of migraines, tears, laughter, and success. She is a little trooper. She now tells us when she needs to go potty, which is a huge help:) I am so proud of her adn we accomplished our goal of wearing big girl underwear by the time she turns 3. Thank you for your prayers.

Kenna is a talking machine. Full of energy and is exicited that her birthday is coming up. She asks everyday if it is her birthday. She loves to dance and play with her cat. However in August we get blood work done to see what we are officially allergic to so Nemo may have to find a new home.

All is well......

I'm Growing Up

Kenna is growing up so quick. It's really sad! Her toddler bed was recently turned into a full size bed. She loves it!!! We spent the whole night jumping on it. She had to break it in:) It is amazing all the changes she is going through. I realize my little girl is slowly growing up. She loves playing with her friends, Ashlyn, Aiden, and Sophia. Recently she painted many flower pots for her grandmothers for mother's day. She is quite a budding artist:)

It's Been a Few Days

Easter is over and Kenna enjoyed spending time with her family. She looked really cute in her dress. She likes to call it her "Princess Dress". She had such a busy Easter Sunday, spending time with her dad's family and then mine. She loved hunting for Easter eggs. She found many. She enjoyed playing with Ashlyn and asks everyday to play with her.

Potty training is not going well, but I have realized I must go at her pace. I praise her when she sits on the potty (1 sticker for her chart) and when she goes #1 or #2 she gets 2 stickers. That makes her very happy. Oneday she will be out of diapers.

She loves to read and the other day she said ABCDEFG--I was amazed. Didn't know she knew that many. She has become the little cook, enjoys helping grandma and mommy in the kitchen. She is growing up:)

Swim Class

Kenna had her first swim class for the year and she did well. The water was very cold and she was ready to get out as soon as we got in. By the end of the class she was splashing and kicking her feet. Her friends, Molly and Ashlyn, took the class too. Ashlyn's lips were blue and Molly went underwater!! Hopefully by Saturday the water will be warmer.

We are still working on potty training, it is such a slow process. The other day we were at Babies R Us and she said she had to go potty. We went to the potty and she used the big girl potty there. So, eventually one day we will have the process mastered.

She has a slight allergy to dust mites. So now another doctor has to look at her for sinuitis. We see Dr. Finch on the 14th of April, so maybe then we will have answers to the constant runny nose.

Doctor Time

Kenna went to the doctor last week and has another sinus infection and ear infection, so we have to see an pediatric allergist tomorrow at 1:30. This should be an interesting event. She has been doing well with potty training, several accidents but several dry periods as well. She is wanting to wear her big girl panties which is a break through itself. I am so proud of her.

I'm going potty!

The latest update, Kenna has been in big girl underwear every evening from 430 to bedtime and had no accidents. She uses the potty and loves putting her stickers on the sticker chart. So, we are making slow progress!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and have yet again another sinus infection and ear infection. Now we have to see an allergist. So, this should be interesting. However the good part is we will find out what she is allergic too.

She had a fun night last night playing with Uncle Scott. They played Barbies and watched Madgascar 2. Great movie!!!!

First Kiss

Kenna has so much fun at the park last night with Aiden and Sophie. They played on the swings and in the dirt of course. As we were leaving, Aiden ran over to hug her and gave her a kiss. Her first kiss at the age of 2 1/2. So cute!!!!!!

Oh, and she went potty twice last night and we had no accidents in the big girl panties!!!!!! I think we are making progress..........

The word of the day for 3/18 was GOOD. She has a new word everyday, a daddy thing, GO HIM!!! And yesterday's word was GOOD as she screamed it at me and had to show me the flashcard. Today's word is HAPPY.

Pictures Were a Hit

Hello Everyone---

We have had such a busy week!!! She had her Easter pictures on Tuesday and was such a ham. She posed like she was a model and then was so upset when it was over. She loved her picture taken in this white wicker chair. She kept telling the photographer she was a princess in her dancing shoes (she had no shoes on).

She had a playdate with her cousin, Ashlyn. She loved playing outside with her and in the toybox with her and then pushed her in the baby stroller. The laughed and played great.

Then we haven taken a long walk this week in the stroller and she cried when it ended. Played with her bubbles and sidewalk chalk, read books, and watched Horton Who. She loves that movie, but the vulture is a "scary bird".

My Heart Hurts.....

Well it is official, Kenna has realized that Ashlyn her cousin is here to stay. We had our first family dinner(Aunt Sam, Uncle Dave, Ashlyn, Grandma, Poppy, and Uncle Scott) on Sunday and as Kenna says, "Her heart hurts". She realized she is no longer the baby nor the center of attention and she didn't know quite how to take it. She played in the bedroom by herself during dinner, because she couldn't sit in her seat. It was a sad day for her.

However, on Saturday her and Ashlyn were the bestest of friends holding hands in the car and playing in the stroller while we were walking. They did very well together.

Kenna surprises me everyday. She is truly growing up. We went to the park yesterday and she went up and down the slide a 100 times. She was such a big girl until it was time to leave and of course the temper tantrum occurred. Then I started to cry last night and she said "It's otay Mommy, I wuv you". Hugged me and wiped my eyes to get the tears away. She is truly a blessing!!!!

Play-Date

Kenna and Ashlyn met for a play-date last night and had so much fun!!!!! Kenna was very happy to see her friend, Ashlyn. She is teaching Ashlyn new English words and I swear I think Ashlyn is teaching Kenna Russian curse words because Kenna told me off something fierce the other day. The girls were so cute together running around the house together!!!!!

Potty-Training a No Go

No luck with the potty-training. Kenna did poop on the potty this weekend, but that is the only action the potty saw from her. I will admit, potty-training becomes frustrating!! She did well at church on Sunday, every Sunday is getting easier on her. She enjoys planning with the kids in her class.

I'm Sick

Last night was a long night, Kenna was very sick. She has a very bad case of the croup. We went to after hours and saw the doctor and she had to get a breathing treatment and a steroid shot. She was a trooper!!!! She is coughing like a seal and running a high fever, but we are managing. I will be posting new pictures here soon!!!! She did tell me at the doctors office she peed in her pants:)

My Friend Is Home

Kenna was very happy to see Aunt Sam, Uncle Dave, and her friend Ashlyn. Kenna and Ashlyn played well. Kenna was showing her how to play with all her new toys and most importantly how to work a cell phone.

Most recently she had her first 4-wheeler ride and loved it. She kept telling the trees "To get out of her way". She was most excited when she got to go through the water, but was a little worried when her pants got muddy.

She is doing well at church. She has moved out of the nursery into DiscpleLand which has been a difficult transition for her. She is making new friends and loves snack, craft, and music time. She is learning to clasp her hands when praying and I will tell you she looks really cute doing it:)

I Peed

Hello everyone!!! Great news to share, last night Kenna was running around and a light bulb came on and she yelled, "I have to use the potty". So she went to the potty twice last night. Then when she woke up this am, her diaper was dry she went potty again and requested her big girl panties. So, maybe we have a break through:) She looks really cute in her Dora underwear!!

My First Sprout

Life has been very busy. Fighting colds and snow. We are looking forward to warm weather. Kenna finally had her first sprout on Christmas Eve (hair half up, for those who don't know what a sprout is). She was very excited to wear a bow in her as well. Most recently we have mastered the land of tiny pig-tails. She is very excited to see her new cousin, Ashlyn who will be arriving from Russia very soon. The Easter bunny may have to take the diapers away, she is still trying to grasp that idea.
